UAEMoneyWise ("we", "us", "our") operates the website uaemoneywise.com — a financial comparison platform for UAE residents. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL).
2. What Data We Collect
- Account data: Email address, full name (when you register)
- Usage data: Pages visited, calculators used, cards viewed (anonymised analytics)
- Profile data: Spending preferences and card choices you voluntarily enter in the AI Recommender
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type (standard server logs)
- Cookies: Session authentication cookies (necessary), analytics cookies (with consent)
We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, passport information, or UAE National ID numbers.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the comparison platform
- To personalise card and product recommendations
- To maintain your saved cards and preferences
- To send optional email alerts you subscribe to
- To comply with legal obligations
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the basis of: (a) your consent where required; (b) performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for); and (c) our legitimate interests in improving our platform and preventing fraud.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider
- Vercel — our hosting provider (servers in the EU/US)
- Cloudflare — our CDN, WAF and privacy-first analytics provider (no individual user tracking)
- Zoho Mail — our transactional email provider (UAE data centre)
- Banks / financial institutions — only when you click "Apply Now" (you are redirected to their site and subject to their privacy policy)
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained for 90 days. You may request deletion at any time (see section 8).
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted databases (at rest), HTTPS (in transit), Supabase Row-Level Security, and Cloudflare WAF protection. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately.
8. Your Rights (PDPL)
Under UAE PDPL you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is consent-based)
- Object to processing for direct marketing

9. Cookies
We use:
- Necessary cookies: Session authentication (cannot be disabled)
- No analytics cookies: Our analytics provider (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is privacy-first and does not set any cookies or fingerprint visitors. Aggregate visit counts only.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email (if you have an account) or a notice on our website.
